The town of Paarl, some 46 km from Cape Town, lies in the Berg
River Valley surrounded by the majestic Du Toitskloof Mountains
and Paarl Mountain.
The town's main road is lined with Cape Dutch buildings and
century-old oak trees. This culturally rich town is also home
to the Afrikaans Language Museum, art galleries, quaint churches,
an arboretum, a bird sanctuary and a highly acclaimed wine
route.
The nearby mountains all offer various recreational
facilities such as hiking routes, mountain bike routes and
picnic spots. Paarl Rock to the west is a remarkable granite
intrusion of more than half a billion years old.

For those who want a bird's eye view of Paarl at the crack of dawn, this is followed by a hearty breakfast.

Take a walk down Main Road, one of the longest in south Africa, you will be surprised at all the quaint shops offering a variety of items, many home made. Paarl also boasts a large shopping Mall.

Paarl is the home of CULTIVARIA, a festival with finesse, this takes place yearly in September and is fast becoming a must see on every events calendar.
